Comparison

US agency vs Indian agency: cost, time zones, risk and ownership

A US agency costs more and gives you the same working day, a team you can visit and local legal recourse. An Indian agency costs a fraction — Indian delivery runs roughly 60–80% below US agency rates for equivalent scope — and gives you a partial overlap, a written way of working and an obligation to verify before you trust. Neither is the right answer for everyone. The honest way to decide is factor by factor, and to read the ownership terms before the price.

When a US agency is the right choice

  • Your project needs constant real-time collaboration through the whole US working day
  • You need people on site — a photoshoot, a launch event, a workshop with your team
  • Procurement requires a US vendor of record, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 — we hold neither and would rather say so now
  • Your data must stay in the United States by regulation or policy
  • You want an account manager in your time zone, and you are willing to pay the local rate for one

When an Indian agency is the right choice

  • You want senior work at an Indian cost base, and the saving matters to the business
  • Your work is mostly asynchronous anyway — audits, content, builds, reporting
  • You are comfortable with a written daily update and calls in a four-hour window
  • You will check the registration, read the published prices and run a small paid audit first
  • You want ownership terms — accounts, code, IP — explicit in the contract

Our US price row

SEO

Set against the US market's own benchmarks — above the roughly $500-a-month floor the market itself flags as unable to deliver, below the US typical — and published so you can hold it against any local quote. A one-off technical audit is the smallest first step, and its findings are yours to take anywhere.

Our published price

$1,200 – $6,000 / month

Retainers run $1,200 to $6,000 per month — small business at the lower end, mid-market above it, against a US market averaging around $3,199. One-off technical audits start at $900. Minimum sensible engagement is six months — that is how long compounding takes, whoever sells it to you.

Questions on this comparison

How do I know an Indian agency is real?

Check what can be checked. Our GST registration is published and verifiable on the Indian government portal, our prices are published on every page, and we ask for a small paid audit before any larger engagement so you risk very little to find out how we work. A vendor who will not publish a registration number or a price is asking for trust it has not earned.

Will the time difference slow the project down?

For most web and SEO work it shortens it. Work briefed at the end of your day is done during ours and waiting the next morning. Live overlap is roughly 8am to noon Eastern; anything that genuinely needs real-time collaboration all day is a project we would tell you to place locally.

Do I have to withhold 30% US tax?

No. Under the India–US tax treaty, service payments to us are not subject to US withholding, and we provide a completed Form W-8BEN-E for your records. Invoices are in USD with no Indian GST added.

What if you disappear halfway through?

A fair question for any small overseas vendor. The answer is structural: everything is built in accounts you own, in standard technologies, with documented code and repositories in your name. Payment is staged against delivered work, so at no point are you paying for something you cannot see.

Do you hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001?

No, and we do not claim to. We act as a data processor under a written DPA, use multi-factor authentication where the platform supports it, and keep client environments separate. If your procurement requires a certified vendor, we are probably not the right choice for that engagement and would rather say so at the start.

Not sure which side you are on?

Describe the project and we will tell you which option fits — and say so plainly if the answer is the other one.
